2024 MFR Committees
Activities Committee – This committee works as a team ensuring there are activities for all ages to enjoy. They also work with the Communication Committee in developing activities and program agendas for the weekend. All events are purposely designed to engage all in attendance. Communication Committee – This committee works as a team to ensure communications are shared on social media, email, newsletter, direct mail, and phone. The team works on creating the reunion’s program book for the upcoming year, branding messages, creating and updating the website, list-serve, and phone directory, and creating and sharing all communications regarding registration, fundraisers, deaths, births, anniversaries, accomplishments, special recognition’s, stays connected with all members, prepares resolutions as needed and sometimes steps in to present in the absence of the President or Vice President. They are responsible for working with the registration team in providing informational materials to be shared during the reunion assisting the activities committee in planning fun-filled events and program agendas for the weekend and providing technical and logistics for the weekend. Historical Committee – This committee works as a team to keep the history of the Maness Family alive and updated. Their projects over the years have included, in-depth research of our ancestry dating from John Maness 1655 to the current year, an ancestral tree displaying all descendants, quilting activity, ancestral displays and pictorial book, a family guided tour of memorable places in Robbins, NC, and a book of reflections featuring family members memorable moments of “Making A Maness”. Registration/Hospitality Committee – This committee works as a team with the Treasurer/Asst.Treasure in providing hospitality to all who attend the reunion. They are responsible for distributing registration information to all who attend and the first persons of contact with family and friends. They are responsible for distributing and retrieving voting ballots and surveys, providing directional information on the layout of the hotel or any area information, and working with the vendors of the reunion (if needed).
